Nautical Baby Boy Shower

To welcome her second baby, friends and family of Makayla of @hairbymakayla gathered together at Royal Palm Yacht Club in Boca Raton, FL to throw her a little celebration.  Makayla chose a playful rustic nautical theme for her baby boy shower. The décor of the Royal Palm Yacht Club was nautical, classy and elegant. Combined with the expansive yachts moored outside the windows provided the perfect backdrop for the event.

The party decorations were inspired by the ships, anchors and the intracoastal waters all around the venue. We created nautical centerpieces in rustic grey boxes topped with a soft mix of blue and white hydrangeas along with crisp white roses.  The tables were covered with navy and white striped nautical table linens. The color scheme was a fresh mix of blues, grey and white.

A three tier diaper cake was a stately addition to the nautical theme. It was adorned with a ship wheel and anchor that could be used later in the nursery. Guests were greeted by the smooth sounds of jazz pianist Tom Danciu as champagne and hors de vours were passed by the staff. The dessert table was over the top with a custom made hydrangea cake, cupcakes, cookies, macaroons and candy; it was a pregnant girls dream come true!

 

For an interactive party element, we taped a shell to the bottom of one chair per table and allowed on guest to go home with the centerpiece. Makayla ended the shower with the arrival of her 5yr old son, Cayden. He was quick to give his Mommy a big embrace and was smiling ear to ear thinking of the arrival of his new little brother, Edward Michael Sullivan IV.
